HANABI TAIKAI (2024)

Production of fireworks was introduced to Japan from China where gunpowder was first used in history. The Japanese liked hanabi and it became one of the most important outdoor events in the lives of the people of Edo (Tokyo).

Hanabi Taikai at the Sumida River in Tokyo on July 27, 2024 - though the event is most famous, it is difficult for ordinary visitors to see and enjoy the fireworks displays because of high rise buildings alongside the Sumida River and too many viewers visiting Asakusa
