A villa of Akimoto Family the feudal lord of Tatebayashi

Tatebayashi is a castle town since 1532 when Terumitsu Akai built a castle here. During the Edo Period (1603-1868), ten different daimyo families and 23 feudal lords ruled the area and Akiyama is the last lord ruled the place after reassigned from Yamagata.

Viscount Harutomo Akimoto (1881-1948) was a nice guy and he was loved by the villagers. He liked nature and enjoyed fishing with a net. The statue was built in 1919.
